What does a Tree Need to Thrive and Grow?

Good day!

In our last post we discussed the highway to happiness. Hopefully you took something from it and started to work on refining your thoughts and eradicating negative thinking. If not, you have some homework to do on top of today's homework!

Ok! So, let's dive right in!

First-Take a look at this video (4 mins) and choose a tree.

Take a moment to think about what was covered in the video. What did it reveal about you?

Now, moving on…what does it take for your tree to grow and thrive? (This isn't a trick question so, try to really think about it.)

In school you learn about the environment...and somewhere in there you learn about plants. Just like any other plant, you learn about the anatomy of a tree and what it needs to thrive and grow:

-Air

-Water

-Sunlight

-Soil

-Nutrients

Does this sound familiar? Ok. So, you get the point!

Now what makes up your tree? take a look at the image below. Imagine this your tree (your tree of life). What does it need to grow? Is it family? Friends? Love? Career? Or anything else that is of value to you?

What does this have to do with anything (you ask again)? Well, what I want to do here is help you bring about success and happiness in your life. You must figure out what it takes to have both simultaneously, and I am going to help you.

Breaking Down Your Tree

So, just like I mentioned before...together, we will unlock many tools to include putting together your Tree of Life. All of which will help you reach your goals.

Now, before I run out of here, I want you to complete an assignment for me. Don't worry, I won't ask you to comment or provide anything personal. I just want to get your wheels turning a bit.

Here's your assignment: Let's breakdown your Tree of Life. Determine what makes up your tree. Feel free to print the tree above or draw your own.

Determine:

-Roots (Where you come from)

-Ground (Where you are as a person now)

-Trunk (Values)

-Branches (Hopes, wishes, and dreams)

-Fruits (Gifts you received from others)

-Seeds (Gifts you have of hope to give to others)

-Compost (Extra)

Once you have this completed, think about what makes you, well, you! Does your tree make sense? Great! If not, what is your tree missing and why? Again, there isn't anything you need to comment of share. I just want you to take this time to focus on you and your tree!

Un-watered Trees Will Not Grow!

So, if you haven't figured it out by now, un-watered trees will not grow! Yes, that means if you do not provide everything your tree needs to grow, it just simply won't!

Recap-Tending to every part of your tree is just as important as providing what it needs to grow. In order for your tree to flourish, you really need to dive deep into the dirt (ok, so the pun was intended- Mic drop "Boom!" lol) and determine every part of your tree. Essentially what makes up who you are...

Coming up-Next, we will cover what our trees have to do with; not only who we are and where we come from, but our personalities that come with it!
